Having a healthy life should not be taken for granted. Tony Petrello knows how it feels to have a health problem. Not that he has been sick, but from experience, he has gone through with his daughter who is eight years old and suffer from a neurological health condition. Carena, her daughter, has learned how to take solid meals and to Tony, it has been a miracle. Although it required time, strength and determination, the bottom line is that she has mastered the process and the family is happy.

Tony Petrello feels happy to see her daughter take meals with him unlike in the past eight years. There are other activities she is being prepared to partake including walking and talking. The neurological disorder makes it hard for the child to develop the cognitive knowledge on how to do things as they grow up. She was born at the twenty-fourth week and weighed 1.25 pounds. Baby Carena was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at birth.

Carena neurological condition has been a great inspiration to the family. She rejuvenates and provides her philanthropic parents with the motivation and drive to keep on sponsoring brain research for kids. Tony Petrello doesn’t see the condition in her daughter as a hardship but a great purpose than those with fewer challenges. The reason why they smile and get inspired when they notice a slight improvement.

Tony and his wife Cynthia are always on the run to find answers to the problem facing their daughter. However, Tony realized that kids with Cerebral palsy needed transatlantic research which was not well being conducted due to lack of brain research. They went to their neighborhood Texas Children Hospital and funded the study on neurological disorder so that Carena and other kids can live their dream life. In 2006 Tony donated seven million dollars to Texas Children`s Hospital. He has given out donations and contributions towards the matters of health on various occasions. The couple donated $ 50 million for the development of the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute.

Tony Petrello holds Science degree in Mathematics and Masters of Science in Mathematics from Yale University. He also pursued law from Harvard Law School. Tony began his career from Baker and McKenzie law firms where he dealt with corporate law, international arbitration and taxation. Tony became the managing partner of the law firm, and later in 1991, he joined Nabors Industries as an elected member to the board of directors.
