Sharon Prince Is Recognized For Humanitarian Efforts

When Sharon Prince first became inspired to create Grace Farms, she knew that she wanted to create a place of peace that everyone in the community of New Canaan could enjoy despite their background. At Grace Farms, people may find pleasure while they are seeking purpose in the new kind of public space that includes buildings from an award-winning architectural firm from Japan.

The River Building is strikingly modern while still complementing the nature that surrounds it. There were many firms that Sharon Prince could have chosen for the project, but she is confident that she and her team at the Grace Farms Foundation made the right decision when it came to choosing who designed their space.

In addition to designing the River Building, Grace Farms also commissioned the firm to redesign and repurpose a series of barns that were already on the property to become a welcome center for Grace Farms. The building style on the site is decidedly modern, which is something that is not too uncommon for the area that is just a few miles away from the Glass House of Philip Johnson. The community center first opened three years ago to the public and it has been enjoyed by many people since. See Related Link for additional information.

Sharon Prince is a graduate of the University of Tulsa who also serves Next Generation Nepal on their Board. This charity is dedicated to helping to reunite children who have been separated from their families due to child exploitation. Her work with this organization and others was recognized in 2017 when Sharon Prince earned the Abolitionist Award from the NOMI Network.

Before she began her work on the Grace Farms Foundation, she was the President of a technical outerwear brand from Iceland known as 66North. Prince had developed the brand and arranged for its distribution through 100 stores throughout North America.
